Annual Open Trophy weekend-The Wight Company of Field Archers
We are a traditional bow and wooden arrow only club, but once a year on the last weekend in June we are pleased to invite those wishing to shoot compounds and sighted recurves to join us on our beautiful Island for our annual shoot.
Traditional archers are of course still very welcome. Aluminium or wooden arrows only, sorry no carbon arrows or crossbows.
The shoot will consist of two days challenging field shooting in a beautiful, well contoured woodland location.
Saturday morning will be one round (mixture of standard big game and single shot scoring) of at least 25 3D’s, including several multi shots, eg flock of ducks,
deer herd, predator and prey, sloth of bears. The afternoon will be a one shot Bowhunter round from a different peg.
Sunday morning will be another chance to do the course, this time from a third set of pegs to give you a further challenge, followed by presentation of trophies
and medals in the early afternoon, allowing you to get a ferry home late afternoon.
Full catering by our friendly helpers including breakfast baps (bacon and/or egg) for early arrivals,
freshly cooked eggs, bacon, burgers and/or pulled pork baps for lunch plus
a delicious array of homemade cakes with tea and coffee available all day.
£18 for Seniors, £9 for Juniors and Cubs. Medals awarded by category for those shooting over the whole weekend.
Single day entry also welcome – £10 for Saturday, £7 for Sunday.
This is a pre-book, pre-pay event
Please note that the above fee does not include camping, refreshments or ferry travel.
Sorry, there is no camping on site but limited camping now available at a site nearby with compost toilet, solar showers and mains water supply.
Room for 12 cars, with the rest of the field devoted to tent space. £5 per person, per night. First come, first served.
